Event Description California University of Pennsylvania is hosting a conference on Saturday, October 6 titled, Berger Fellowship Conference: Celebrating Excellence in Teaching and Learning. The purpose of the conference is to celebrate excellence in teaching and learning and to work together as educators to raise the bar in education. The conference is sponsored by California University of Pennsylvania, and the Jeff and Beverly Berger Fellowship and is supported by the Southwest PA Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development.
Dr. Richard Allington will provide the keynote address at this conference. Dr. Allington, past president of the International Reading Association, and author of dozens of books and articles, is a leader in the field of literacy , and an advocate for thoughtful literacy—reading, writing, and thinking in complex and critical ways—for all students. Dr. Allington is a true proponent of raising the bar in literacy education.
