Event Description California University will recognize more than 1,500 of its most accomplished scholars at an Honors Convocation at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 21 in Hamer Hall Auditorium.
The University rewards academic excellence on the part of master's, bachelor's and associate degree-seeking students by honoring Presidential
Scholars at this annual event. In addition to meeting other requirements, Presidential Scholars carry a grade-point average of 3.25 or above. Both
full- and part-time students are eligible for the award.
Dr. Dennis Eckels '71 will be this year's guest speaker. Dr. Eckels was one of 14 osteopathic family physicians nationwide to receive the fellowship award from the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians at their national meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada. The fellowship award is conveyed on those osteopathic family physicians who have contributed outstanding national, state, and local service through teaching, authorship, research, or professional leadership.
If attending, RSVPs (via reply cards) are due back from students by April 13. |
