Event Description This month's Civil War Roundtable at Cal U will be held on Thursday, Dec. 13 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Kara-Booker Great Room in the Kara Alumni House.
This month's speaker is Allan West, a civil war buff and collector who has published a number of articles on Civil War Medicine. He has been a speaker at the National Museum of Civil War Medicine’s annual meeting. West has recently authored a book – “Remember Me: Letters Home from a Hospital Steward during the Civil War.”
The title of his talk is: "Trial By Fire: The Story of a Hospital Steward in Western Virginia."
As an added Christmas bonus we will be entertained with civil war songs performed by "The Acoustic Shadows of the Blue and the Gray” String Band.
Anyone interested in Civil War History is invited to attend. Doors will be open at 6:30 p.m.
IMPORTANT PARKING NOTIFICATION: All parking on campus is for paid permit holders only. If you do not hold a parking permit, you can park on the street or at the Manderino Library Vulcan Parking Garage (Lot 22). |
