Mass Auditions

Event Description
The Department of Theatre and Dance will hold auditions and interviews for all spring shows on Thursday, Jan. 31 beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the lobby area of the Blaney Theatre in Steele Hall.

NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY! THERE WILL BE MATERIAL FOR YOU TO USE TO AUDITION.

Actor-Singer-Dancers needed for THE FANTASTICKS. Contact person Michele Pagen (pagen@calu.edu)

Dancers needed for our SPRING DANCE CONCERT 2013. Contact person Diane Buffington (buffington@calu.edu)

Actor-Movers needed for our production of A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM. Contact person Michael Slavin (slavin@calu.edu)

Technicians and stage managers needed for all productions and will be interviewed that evening. Contact Malcolm Callery (callery@calu.edu) and Bill O'Donnell (odonnell@calu.edu)

If you would prefer to prepare material on your own:

Performers:
~prepare a song (from musical theatre 16-24 bars) and a monologue (from a published play). No longer than 90 seconds total; Must have sheet music.Accompanist provided. No a capella singing allowed. Be prepared to move.

~Not a singer? Prepare a monologue of one minute or less in length (should be from Shakespeare or period) OR two contrasting period monologues totaling 90 seconds or less.

Dancers:
Come prepared to move and bring ALL dance shoes (tap, ballet, jazz, etc) with you. All types of dance will be explored.

Technicians:
~come with your interest areas prioritized.

EVERYONE should bring spring schedule of classes, work schedule, etc. and a pencil.
