Registration is open for the 2013 Pittsburgh Diversity and Leadership Conference, sponsored by the National Diversity Council and California University of Pennsylvania. The fourth annual conference will be held Sept. 19 in the Cal U Convocation Center.

Keynote speaker is the distinguished military and political leader Gen. Colin Powell, the first African-American to serve as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and as Secretary of State.

A dedicated philanthropist, Powell is the Founder of the Colin L. Powell Center for Leadership and Service at his alma mater, the City College of New York. He is also the founder and chairman emeritus of the America's Promise Alliance, a nonprofit organization that is committed to seeing that children have the fundamental resources they need to succeed.

The Pittsburgh Diversity and Leadership Conference also includes:

- Panel presentations by distinguished leaders from the greater Pittsburgh area.

- A breakfast honoring the region's Most Powerful & Influential Women, including Cal U’s interim University president, Geraldine M. Jones.

- The annual Multicultural Awards Luncheon.

- Sponsorship and exhibitor opportunities.

Free tickets for students, community

The National Diversity Council has made available FREE tickets for Cal U students, alumni and members of the community to hear the keynote address by Gen. Colin Powell at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 19 at the Cal U Convocation Center.

Seating is limited and advance registration is requested. Register online and print your complimentary admission pass, or visit the Cal U Convocation Center Box Office from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
