In the highly anticipated next chapter of the blockbuster The Twilight Saga, the new found married bliss of Bella Swan and vampire Edward Cullen is cut short when a series of betrayals and misfortunes threatens to destroy their world. After their wedding, Bella soon discovers she is pregnant, and during a nearly fatal childbirth, Edward finally fulfills her wish to become immortal. But the arrival of their remarkable daughter, Renesmee, sets in motion a perilous chain of events that pits the Cullens and their allies against the Volturi, the fearsome council of vampire leaders, setting the stage for an all-out battle.
This movie is playing in the Vulcan Theatre and is free for all students, faculty and staff. |
| 12:00 PM | Machines in Motion (Multi-Day Event)
Leonardo da Vinci was the original "Renaissance man" - an artist, inventor and engineer whose innovative designs, created 500 years ago, foretold many of the machines we use today.
Forty full-size replicas of those machines, painstakingly crafted from da Vinci's own technical drawings, will be on display from noon to 8 p.m. daily, beginning Jan. 2, at California University of Pennsylvania.
Leonardo da Vinci: Machines in Motion, continues through May 6 in the South Conference Wing of the new Convocation Center at Cal U.
Admission is free. The public is welcome to attend.
The traveling exhibition invites interaction. Visitors can manipulate and activate most of the machines — the revolving crane, armored car, printing press, working robot and more.
Scientists and skilled artisans built the 40 replicas in collaboration with the Leonardo da Vinci Museum in Florence, Italy. The exhibition has drawn crowds to museums across the United States and around the world.
